I’ve had the privilege of photographing MANY weddings at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn over the years. It is such a gorgeous location on the Brooklyn waterfront. If you’re looking for great Liberty Warehouse wedding photos, you’ve come to the right place!
There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to photography at Liberty Warehouse.
The first thing to keep in mind is that there are NOT a lot of nearby locations for photos. If you want to go to someplace like DUMBO or the Brooklyn Bridge for pictures, it’s a hike. So, keep that in mind when you’re setting up your timeline.
BUT, the good news is, Liberty Warehouse has a ton of great locations on site for you to take photos already. The views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty are spectacular.
The first wedding I photographed there, which may have been the first wedding they ever did, or at least one of the first, was actually featured in The Knot Magazine in an article called “Venues with a View!”
The other main thing to consider in regards to wedding photos at Liberty Warehouse is that once the sun goes down, it gets VERY dark inside.
In fact, it’s rather like a cave after sunset. Luckily for you, I’ve worked in the space many times and I know how to light the room in an artistic and flattering manner.
Photographers who’ve never worked at Liberty Warehouse may find the lighting conditions difficult. Even if they’re comfortable with using off camera flash equipment (and make sure they are if you’re even considering hiring them for a Liberty Warehouse wedding), they might be unsure where to set up their lights because the layout can be tricky (and there’s really nowhere to bounce light off of).
